A Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with advanced certification of the American Board of Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Josh Tunca is a preeminent authority in the field of gynecologic oncology.
Graduating with honors from Istanbul University's Cerrahpasa Medical School, Dr. Tunca left his home in Turkey to serve an internship at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina.
From there, he went on to further study and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University, Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
Pursuing a lifelong commitment to the treatment and management of gynecologic carcinomas, Dr. Tunca served as a Gynecologic Oncology Fellow at Emory University School of Medicine, and was subsequently awarded a two-year Fellowship by American Cancer Society.
In addition to distinguished work in private practice, Dr. Tunca is former Director of Gynecologic Oncology and Assistant Professor , Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at West Virginia University School of Medicine; and has also served as Chief and Associate Professor, Gynecologic Oncology Division, Department of OB/GYN, University of Illinois at Chicago, where he presently holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor.
Recognized by specialists the world over for his illustrious research, Dr. Tunca's contributions to scientific literature are among the most significant and influential in the practice of gynecologic oncology today.
His articles are published in a number of medical journals both in the States and abroad. He frequently gives lectures at hospitals and at international conferences.
